3A State Semifinals @ Southern Utah University
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Brody Peterson netted 16 points on 6/11 from the floor and the No. 1 Morgan Trojans downed No. 12 Grantsville 67-41 Friday in the 3A state semifinals at the America First Event Center. Cole Sparks posted a game-high 17 points in the loss for the Cowboys. Morgan next competes for a 3A state championship Saturday at 7:00 pm at the America First Event Center against No. 3 American Heritage. Grantsville plays No. 2 Richfield for third place Saturday at 3:00 pm at the America First Event Center.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-James Matsen’s 16 points led the way and the No. 3 American Heritage Patriots downed No. 2 Richfield 44-40 Friday in the 3A state semifinals at the America First Event Center. Jorgen Southwick led the Wildcats in the loss with 15 points.
3A State Consolation Bracket @ Southern Utah University
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Jeter Sanders posted 24 points on 9/16 from the floor and the No. 8 Canyon View Falcons stonewalled No. 3 Emery 67-51 Friday at the America First Event Center in the 3A state consolation bracket. Porter Sitterud’s 14 points led the Spartans in the loss. Canyon View next faces No. 6 Delta Saturday at 11:50 am in the 5th place game at the America First Event Center.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Mason Robinson netted 17 points and the No. 6 Delta Rabbits overpowered No. 7 Ogden 59-45 Friday in the 3A state consolation bracket. Jackson Maw posted 14 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.
1A State Second Round
JUNCTION, Utah-Andres Nevarez led the way with 18 points and the No. 3 Piute Thunderbirds routed No. 19 Wendover 95-31 in the second round of the 1A state playoffs Friday. Lavar Tom and Mario Lopez scored 10 points apiece in the loss for Piute. The Thunderbirds next face No. 6 Bryce Valley Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Lifetime Events Center on the campus of Salt Lake Community College of Taylorsville.
TROPIC, Utah-Rodolfo Perez posted 15 points and the No. 6 Bryce Valley Mustangs humbled No. 11 Tintic 54-49 Friday in the second round of the 1A state playoffs. Braylon Jones led the Miners in defeat with 19 points.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Trenton Virga netted 19 points and 21 rebounds and the No. 5 Panguitch Bobcats routed No. 12 Altamont 52-33 Friday in the second round of the 1A state playoffs. Briggs Wall led the Longhorns in defeat with 13 points. Panguitch next faces the winner of Saturday’s Manila-Whitehorse game Thursday at 10:00 am in the state quarterfinals Thursday at 10:00 am at Salt Lake Community College.
BICKNELL, Utah-Hunter Robins posted 15 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 2 Wayne Badgers dismantled No. 18 Milford 61-42 in the second round of the 1A state playoffs Friday. Boston Sullivan netted 14 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers. Wayne next faces No. 7 Green River Thursday in the state quarterfinals at 1:00 pm at Salt Lake Community College.
GREEN RIVER, Utah-Jason Hernandez recorded 19 points and 6 assists and the No. 7 Green River Pirates dismantled No. 10 Monticello 58-40 Friday in the second round of the state playoffs. Cache Young and Kord Young scored 13 points apiece in the loss for the Buckaroos.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-No. 8 Valley 52 No. 9 Tabiona 42. The Buffalos next face No. 1 Rich Thursday at 11:30 am in the state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College.
RANDOLPH, Utah-Carter Scott, Ridge Lundgren and Dylan Fonnesbeck scored 14 points apiece and the No. 1 Rich Rebels routed No. 17 St. Joseph 74-50 Friday in the second round of the 1A state playoffs. Chase Fridberg-Gerlich led the Jayhawks in the loss with 14 points.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Ava Smith netted 21 points and 11 rebounds on 7/13 from the floor and the No. 5 Layton Christian Eagles soared past No. 8 Union 52-40 Friday in the 3A state semifinals at the America First Event Center. Charly Bastian led the Cougars in the loss with 10 points. The Eagles will play for the 3A state championship Saturday at 5:00 pm at the America First Event Center against No. 6 Morgan. Union will play for 3rd place Saturday at 1:20 pm against No. 7 Grantsville.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Zoe Rockenfield posted 17 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds and the No. 6 Morgan Trojans downed No. 7 Grantsville 53-48 in the 3A state semifinals at the America First Event Center Friday. Sadee Castagno’s 17 points and 6 rebounds led the Lady Cowboys in the loss.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Malia Schlappi’s 16 points on 6/10 from the floor led the No. 2 North Sanpete Hawks to a 46-39 win over No. 3 Emery Friday in the 3A state consolation bracket at the America First Event Center. Kabree Gordon’s 11 points and 6 rebounds on 3/6 from the floor and 2/3 behind the arc led the Spartans in the loss. North Sanpete next faces No. 1 Delta for 5th place Saturday at 10:00 am at the America First Event Center.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Madison Eliason netted 17 points on 8/14 from the floor and the No. 1 Delta Rabbits outlasted No. 4 Canyon View 48-43 Friday in the 3A state consolation bracket at the America First Event Center. Payton King’s 17 points on 5/10 from the floor led the Falcons in the loss.
