3-A State Quarterfinals
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Kevin Clark posted 16 points on 7-11 from the field as the Manti Templars overpowered Grantsville 67-54 Thursday in the 3-A state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College. Grady Thompson (12 points, 8 rebounds), Conner Christiansen (12 points) and Jordan Blauer (11 points, 9 rebounds, 4-6 shooting) also led the 23-1 Templars in the win. Manti shot 56.1 percent (23-41) from the field in the win. Ammon Bartley had 14 points and 7 rebounds on 5-9 from the field in defeat for the Cowboys. Manti next faces Judge Friday at 7:30 pm in the first of two state semifinals.
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Seth Justice netted 18 points and 5 rebounds and the Emery Spartans overpowered South Sevier 65-51 in the 3-A state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College Thursday. Brandt Williams posted 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams in defeat. South Sevier next draws Morgan Friday at 2:30 pm in the consolation bracket in hopes of making it to Saturday competition.
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Joshua Thalman posted 13 points on 6-11 rebounding and Hayden Harward came up big with 12 points as the Richfield Wildcats downed Morgan 41-36 Thursday in the state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College. Carter Thackeray and Sam Hansen had 10 points apiece in the loss for the Trojans.
2-A Quarterfinals
RICHFIELD, Utah-Jake Eichorn stepped up with 11 points as the Beaver Beavers humbled Parowan 40-35 in the 2-A quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center Thursday. Krue Stubbs led the Rams in the loss with 13 points. Next, Beaver faces American Hertiage Friday at 9:10 pm in the state semifinals.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Mathew Bowler led the way with 13 points as the Enterprise Wolves downed Kanab 48-43 at the Sevier Valley Center Thursday during the 2-A quarterfinals. Nathaniel “Hoss” Houston led the Cowboys in defeat with 14 points. Kanab next faces APA Draper at 12:50 pm in the consolation bracket Friday.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Burke Mickelsen netted 15 points as the North Sevier Wolves edged Draper APA 50-48 Thursday in the 2-A quarterfinals. Derek Atkinson’s 16 points led all scorers in the loss for the Eagles. North Sevier faces Enterprise next Friday at 7:30 pm in the state semifinals.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Sipola Vakautakakala posted 19 points on 8-12 shooting as the Richfield Wildcats humbled Carbon 50-36 Thursday in the 3-A state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College. Passion Reitz added 11 points and 6 assists in the win for the Wildcats. Jordan Bianco had 13 points and made 6 of 7 free throws in the loss for the Dinos.
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Presley Chappell posted 14 points and 8 rebounds on 6-11 from the field and the South Sevier Rams stymied Manti 62-31 at Salt Lake Community College Thursday in the 3-A state quarterfinals. Sharlie Alder had 10 points in the loss for the Templars. South Sevier next faces Richfield Friday at 4:10 pm in the state semifinals. Manti next draws Carbon Friday at 9:30 am in the consolation bracket.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Rylee Anderson posted 14 points as Kanab downed Duchesne 44-25 Thursday at the Sevier Valley Center in 2-A quarterfinals action. Gracie Ewell and Taylee Giles had 7 points apiece in the loss for the Eagles. Kanab next faces North Summit Friday at 4:10 pm in the state semifinals.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Eliza Swallow netted 16 points as the Millard Eagles pounded North Sevier 55-33 at the Sevier Valley Center in 2-A quarterfinals action Thursday. Brinley Mason’s 17 points led the Wolves in defeat. Millard next draws Wasatch Academy at 5:50 pm in the state semifinals Friday. North Sevier faces APA Draper Friday at 11:10 am in the consolation bracket.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Olivia Jessee amassed 25 points as the Wasatch Academy Tigers crushed Draper APA 52-28 Thursday in 2-A quarterfinals action. Kassie Tui had 7 points in the loss for the Eagles.
