3A State Tournament Second Round
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Erin Hallows led the way with 13 points and the No. 4 Canyon View Falcons edged No. 13 Juab 38-35 in the second round of the 3A state tournament Saturday at The Nest. Cambry Hall led the Wasps in defeat with 11 points. The Falcons next face No. 5 Layton Christian Thursday at 9:10 pm in the state quarterfinals at Southern Utah University.
LAYTON, Utah-Ava Smith netted 28 points and the No. 5 Layton Christian Eagles smoked No. 12 Manti 57-41 Saturday in the second round of the 3A state tournament. Madelyn Bridges led the Templars in the loss with 15 points.
GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Kamry Allen posted 15 points and the No. 7 Grantsville Lady Cowboys overpowered No. 10 Carbon 54-45 Saturday in the second round of the 3A state tournament. Malia Smith and Elsie Morley scored 10 points apiece in the loss for the Dinos. The Lady Cowboys next face No. 2 North Sanpete Thursday at 5:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at Southern Utah University.

DELTA, Utah-Joslyn Christiansen recorded 18 points and the No. 1 Delta Rabbits clobbered No. 16 Ben Lomond 65-19 in the second round of the 3A state tournament Saturday at the Palladium. Nhyema Simpson scored 10 points for the Scots in defeat. Delta next faces No. 8 Union Thursday at 7:30 pm at Southern Utah University in the state quarterfinals.
ROOSEVELT, Utah-Halle Oakley’s 14 points led the way and the No. 8 Union Cougars edged No. 9 Richfield 46-43 Saturday in the second round of the 3A state tournament. Braylee Penney led the Wildcats with 14 points in the loss.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Aleeyah Cowley netted 18 points and the No. 3 Emery Spartans clobbered No. 14 Providence Hall 51-11 in the second round of the 3A state tournament Saturday at the Spartan Center. Athena Herrera led the Patriots in the loss with 4 points. Emery next faces No. 6 Morgan Thursday at 4:10 pm in the state quarterfinals at Southern Utah University.
MORGAN, Utah-Zoe Rockenfield posted 12 points and the No. 6 Morgan Trojans edged No. 11 Ogden 44-42 Saturday in the second round of the 3A state tournament. Lauretta Taukiuvea’s 15 points led the Tigers in the loss.
2A State Tournament Second Round
BEAVER, Utah-Ruby Lurth stepped up with 16 points and the No. 2 Beaver Beavers smoked No. 15 South Sevier 59-34 Saturday in the second round of the 2A state tournament. Tenley Brown led the Rams in the loss with 10 points. The Beavers next face No. 7 Millard February 23 at 5:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at Utah Valley University.
KANAB, Utah-Kaycee Castagno netted 22 points and the No. 1 Kanab Lady Cowboys pounded No. 17 South Summit 59-34 in the second round of the 2A state tournament Saturday. Ruby Clegg led the Wildcats in defeat with 14 points.
COALVILLE, Utah-Ellie Stephens posted 27 points and the No. 4 North Summit Braves routed No. 13 Maeser Prep 59-23 Saturday in the second round of the 2A state tournament. Hazel Leeper led the Lions in the loss with 10 points. North Summit next faces No. 5 Duchesne February 23 at 9:10 pm in the state quarterfinals at Utah Valley University.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Hadlee Holt netted 19 points and the No. 3 Enterprise Wolves routed No. 14 Intermountain Christian 74-33 in the second round of the 2A state tournament Saturday. Kendrick Lusk had 12 points in the loss for the Lions. The Wolves next face No. 6 Draper APA February 23 at 4:10 pm at Utah Valley University in the state quarterfinals.
DRAPER, Utah-Kate LeRoy led the way with 12 points and the No. 6 Draper APA Eagles smoked No. 11 Gunnison Valley 46-29 Saturday in the second round of the 2A state tournament. Bryler Blackburn led the Bulldogs in the loss with 10 points.
BLANDING, Utah-Kaidence Michell posted 17 points and the No. 8 San Juan Broncos downed No. 9 American Heritage 60-50 in the second round of the 2A state tournament Saturday. Minna Paulson led the Patriots with 17 points in defeat.
FILLMORE, Utah-Blakelie Davies led the way with 26 points and the No. 7 Millard Eagles overpowered No. 10 North Sevier 53-37 Saturday in the second round of the 2A state tournament. AnnaLyne James led the Wolves in the loss with 12 points.
DUCHESNE, Utah-Kira Grant netted 20 points and the No. 5 Duchesne Eagles blitzed No. 12 Waterford 59-19 in the second round of the 2A state tournament Saturday. Kenley Carter led the Ravens with 11 points in the loss.
