Eight-Player

MILFORD, Utah-Carson Cheney threw five touchdown passes and the Milford Tigers pounded Monticello 67-0 in Eight-Player football play Thursday. Kyzler Merryweather ran for a score and caught two touchdown passes in victory for Milford and Boston Sullivan returned an interception 25 yards for another Tigers score in the rout.

1A State Quarterfinals @ Dixie High School

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Clay Gray and Trevyn Clark each drove in  a run and the No. 2 Bryce Valley Mustangs downed No. 3 Valley 5-1 Thursday in the 1A state quarterfinals at Dixie High School. Antonio Moreno posted nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Bryce Valley. Justin Baird drove in a run in defeat for the Buffalos. Bryce Valley will face No. 4 Piute Friday at 11:00 am in the state semifinals at Dixie High School. Valley will face No. 1 Panguitch Thursday at 4:00 pm in the one-loss quarterfinals.
