1A State Second Round @ Maple Mountain HS

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Gerardo Lopez drove in three runs and the No. 2 Bryce Valley Mustangs waxed No. 10 Wayne 10-3 in the second round of the 1A state baseball state tournament at Maple Mountain High School Tuesday. Antonio Moreno netted 10 strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Bryce Valley. Blake Peterson drove in three runs in defeat for the Badgers. The Mustangs will face No. 3 Valley Thursday at 1:30 pm in the state quarterfinals at Dixie High School.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Hudson Burningham drove in five runs and the No. 1 Panguitch Bobcats routed No. 8 Tintic 19-2 Tuesday at Maple Mountain High School in the second round of the 1A state tournament. Casey Walter netted four strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Panguitch. Braylon Jones drove in a run in the loss for the Miners. Panguitch next faces No. 4 Piute Thursday at 11:00 am at Dixie High School in the state quarterfinals.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Braige Beus drove in three runs and the No. 4 Piute Thunderbirds bested No. 5 Altamont 7-4 at Maple Mountain High School Tuesday in the second round of the 1A state baseball tournament. Briggs Wall drove in two runs in defeat for the Longhorns.
