MONROE, Utah-Caleb Barton posted 22 points and 7 rebounds and Kaetz King added 17 points and 7 boards as the South Sevier Rams overcame a slow start to clobber Manti 63-38 in Region 15 boys basketball action Wednesday. The Rams led only 19-18 at the half as Manti’s Mason Thompson drilled a 3-pointer as the 2nd Quarter drew to a close.
Nevertheless, the Rams, who shot 24 percent in the first half, shot 63 percent in the latter 16 minutes of action and used a 24-8 3rd Quarter surge to pull away. Adam Huff had 7 points in the loss for the Templars, who fell to 11-4, while South Sevier improved to 13-2.
DELTA, Utah-Jaymen Brough’s 19 points led the way as the Delta Rabbits outlasted Juab 81-76 in triple overtime Wednesday at the Palladium in Region 14 boys basketball action. Jackson Rowley had a game-high 33 points and nailed six 3-pointers in the loss for the Wasps.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Spencer Steadman’s 20 points paced North Sanpete as the Hawks bested Richfield 57-47 in Region 15 boys basketball action Wednesday. Emmitt Hafen had 11 points for the Wildcats in defeat.
SALINA, Utah-Parx Bartholomew stepped up with 18 points and the Gunnison Bulldogs got past North Sevier 64-55 in triple overtime Wednesday in Region 18 boys basketball action. Wyatt Young netted 17 points and 10 rebounds as well for the Bulldogs in victory. Anders Rosquist had 15 points and 7 boards in the loss for the Wolves.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Chasen Truman led the way with 18 points and the Enterprise Wolves edged Kanab 56-55 in Region 18 boys basketball action Wednesday. Nathaniel Houston had a game-high 21 points for the Cowboys in defeat.
BEAVER, Utah-Porter Wood posted 27 points and 7 rebounds and the Parowan Rams outlasted Beaver 45-41 in overtime Wednesday in Region 18 boys basketball action. Davis Heslington had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in defat for the Beavers.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Bryson Marshall netted 16 points and the Panguitch Bobcats hammered Valley 60-38 in Region 20 boys basketball action Wednesday. Gavin Hoyt’s 14 points led the Buffaloes in the loss.
