MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Tuesday evening, North Sanpete head football coach Rhett Bird conducted a meeting for his student-athletes and their parents/guardians at the North Sanpete High School football field.
Bird distributed a document, known as his “code of ethics,” to each student-athlete.
This requires all Hawks football players to have a positive attitude at practice, to be honest in their dealings with others and so forth.
Bird also cited the risks associated with covid-19, saying that two buses would be taken to all games, including varsity as well as JV, sophomore and freshmen contests.
All players will be sufficiently spaced-out so as to abide by social distancing regulations.
Following games, Bird said, stops will be limited as places such as Wendy’s or McDonald’s will be off limits because of current capacity rules.
Bird exhorted parents to drive their kids home after games should they travel to road contests, such as the Hawks’ season opener, August 14 at Grantsville.
North Sanpete High School athletic director Cheryl Hadley then spoke, saying that for Wednesday evening’s Red/White game at North Sanpete High School, social distancing regulations will be enforced.
While 6,000 spectators are allowed at such events as these, the fans have to be spaced out so social distancing rules can be kept.
