Tuesday, Utah State men’s basketball senior guard MJ Collins was named as one of five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week.
In wins over Tulane and Davidson at the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic at Charleston, S.C. last week, Collins posted 30.5 points and 3.5 assists per game against the Green Wave and Wildcats.
Additionally, Collins shot better than 72 percent from the floor and greater than 61 percent from range in the wins.
The native of Clover, S.C., is averaging 21 points per game thus far on the season for the 6-0 Aggies. Collins and his Utah State teammates return to action Saturday by hosting Montana State at the Spectrum.

Butler senior forward Michael Ajayi (16 points and 14 rebounds per game in wins over South Carolina and Virginia)
Maryland senior guard David Coit (41 points on 11-17 from the floor in the Terrapins’ 95-90 win over Mount Saint Mary’s)
Kansas State junior guard P.J. Haggerty (31 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6 assists per game in the Wildcats’ wins over Tulsa, Mississippi State and Nebraska last week)
Pennsylvania senior guard Ethan Roberts (30.5 points per game in the Quakers’ wins over Saint Joseph’s and Drexel).
