NEPHI, Utah-Thursday afternoon, Juab boys basketball head coach Kam Wright announced his resignation from the position.
Wright posted a record of 109-81 and assumed the position in the 2017-18 season (.574). He led the Wasps to the 3A state championship in 2021, Juab’s first state title in boys basketball since 1960.
In making his decision, Wright reflected upon his “countless memories” and “lifelong friendships.” Wright also spent “around 20 years as an assistant” per his remarks.
Wright sincerely thanked the parents, alumni and administrators for their contributions to his success.
He also thanked his assistant coaches, whose contributions proved to be “invaluable” to the program, Wright continued.
He also honored his players, past and present, who inspired Wright daily with their dedication and commitment.
Wright concluded by saying he will “always cherish” the time he spent with the Juab boys basketball program and looks forward to cheering the Wasps on in years to come.
