Dixie State’s Grayson Earns WAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Monday, Dixie State football freshman defensive back Tyrell Grayson was named as the WAC defensive player of the week for his contributions in the Trailblazers’ 31-14 loss at Montana Saturday.

The 6-0 175-pound native of Fresno, Calif. posted 14 tackles, including eight solo stops for Dixie State. He also came up with a strip sack inside the red zone which prevented the Grizzlies from scoring.

This was Grayson’s first sack as a collegian.

Grayson and his Trailblazers teammates return to action Saturday by hosting Tarleton State at Greater Zion Stadium.
