Five Dixie State Baseball Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-RMAC Honors

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday, Dixie State University’s athletics department confirmed five baseball players were named to the 2018-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all-academic team.

Junior first baseman/outfielder Jake Engel made the all-academic first team. The native of Tucson, Ariz. currently maintains a 3.57 GPA as a business administration major.

Additionally, sophomore left-handed pitcher Jack Gonzales (3.54 GPA, criminal justice), junior first baseman Braxton Ipson (3.32 GPA, business administration major), sophomore outfielder Jagun Leavitt (3.61 GPA, exercise science major) and senior infielder Joe Raymond (3.93 GPA, finance major) also made the honor roll for the Trailblazers.

To be eligible for this distinction, a student-athlete in the RMAC must have a 3.30 GPA and been an active student at their institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
