OREM, Utah-Monday, Utah Valley redshirt sophomore center Fardaws Aimaq was named as a finalist for the Lou Henson Player of the Year and the Lefty Driesell Defensive Player of the Year Awards.
Aimaq posted 27 double-doubles for the Wolverines this season, ranking him second nationally. Aimaq averaged 18.9 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for UVU.
The Lou Henson National Player of the Year award is annually presented to the top mid-major player in Division I men’s basketball.
The Lefty Driesell Award is annually given to the top defensive player in Division I basketball.
