Dixie State Men’s Golf Picked Third in RMAC

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday, Dixie State men’s golf was selected third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll per information released by the conference.

The Trailblazers also have two players on the league’s preseason all-conference team. These include former Millard High star Nicklaus Britt, a senior out of Fillmore, Utah and sophomore Spencer Wallace of Layton, Utah and Layton High School.

The defending RMAC champions, the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, received five of a possible 10 first-place votes from coaches around the conference.

Britt is a two-time first-team All-Pac West selection and last season, led the Trailblazers with a 72.74 scoring average in 23 competitive rounds.

Wallace was the Pac-West’s freshman of the year last season, earning third-team all-conference and Pac-West all-tournament honors.

Dixie State won four tournament last season, including its third Pac-West title in the past four seasons while making a 10th consecutive NCAA West/South Central Region appearance.

The Trailblazers will host two tournaments this season: the 2018 DSU fall regional preview at the Ledges Golf Club of St. George October 15-16 and the NCAA West/South Central Men’s Golf regional May 9-11, also at the Ledges.

The Trailblazers’ 2018-19 season commences at the Saint Martin’s Invitational September 21 and 22 at Lacey, Wash.
