Dixie State Men’s Basketball Returns Home To Face Fort Lewis and Adams State

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday and Saturday, resurgent Dixie State men’s basketball, winners of five of their last six games, returns home to ensue in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

The 9-8 (7-6 in RMAC play) Trailblazers face Fort Lewis Friday and Adams State Saturday at Burns Arena.

Trailblazers head coach Jon Judkins currently has the third-most wins in Utah college basketball history. With a win against the Skyhawks Friday, Judkins would tie SLCC women’s basketball coach Betsy Specketer for second place with 538 wins.

Dixie State scores 74 points per game and surrenders 70.5 points per contest.

Junior forward Matt Conway scores 17.7 points per game and nets 5.9 rebounds per contest as well for good measure for Dixie State.

Senior forward/center Austin Montgomery is Dixie State’s second-leading scorer, netting 10 points per game.

The Skyhawks come into Burns Arena at 9-10 on the season and 4-9 in conference play.

They score 77.2 points per game while surrendering 76.5 points per contest.

Fort Lewis is led by senior power forward Marquel Beasley (17.1 points, 5.6 rebounds per contest) and senior guard Alex Semadeni (12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds per game).

The Trailblazers seek their first win against the Skyhawks, out of Durango, Colo., in history as they are currently 0-5 against them.

Saturday, the Trailblazers welcome in the Adams State Grizzlies out of Alamosa, Colo.

The Grizzlies, who will play at Westminster Friday, are currently 6-12 and 6-7 in RMAC play.

They have a propensity for playing high-scoring games as they score 80.5 points per game and surrender 83.1 points per contest.

Senior guard John Dewey (18.5 points per game) is Adams State’s leading scorer.

The Grizzlies’ overall best statistical player is senior forward Davere Creighton (14.7 points, 8.2 rebounds per game).
