Dixie State Men’s Basketball Hosts New Mexico Highlands In RMAC Tournament Tuesday

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Tuesday, Dixie State men’s basketball, the #2 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament, hosts the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys at the Burns Arena.

The Trailblazers (18-8, 16-6 in RMAC play) are the winners of 13 straight games.

Should the Trailblazers vanquish the Cowboys, of Las Vegas N.M., they would face the winner of the #3 Regis-#6 Colorado-Colorado Springs game in the semifinals.

The winner of the RMAC tournament gains the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament.

Tickets for Tuesday’s game are $12 for reserved seating and $9 for general admission.

The Trailblazers score 74.8 points per game and surrender 66.8 points per contest.

Junior forward Matt Conway (17.8 points, 6.7 rebounds per game) and senior forward/center Austin Montgomery (10 points per game) lead the Trailblazers.

The high-scoring Cowboys love to push the tempo, scoring 87.2 points per game and surrendering 81.4 points per contest.

Senior guard Gerad Davis (20.8 points, 4.5 rebounds per game) and redshirt junior guard Raquan Mitchell (19.5 points per game) lead the Cowboys.

Dixie State leads the all-time series 1-0, having defeated the Cowboys 83-65 December 14.
