Dixie State Baseball Stays Perfect, Routs Cal State-Los Angeles Sunday

LOS ANGELES-Cade Spurlin and Jake Schulz each homered as the Dixie State Trailblazers routed Cal State-Los Angeles 15-2 Sunday at Reeder Field, completing a 2-game sweep of the Golden Eagles.

The 7-0 Trailblazers broke open a 1-1 tie in the 3rd Inning with 7 net runs over the course of the next two innings.

Dixie State received RBI singles from Spurlin, Tyler Hollow and Tanner Harper in this span as well as a passel of runs on Golden Eagles errors.

On five Cal State-Los Angeles errors on the afternoon, Dixie State scored four runs, dropping the Golden Eagles to 1-3 on the season.

Tevita Gerber earned his second win of the season ont he mound for the Trailblazers, netting six strikeouts and surrendering only two hits in five innings of work.

The Trailblazers next play their first home games of the season Thursday-Saturday for a four-game series against Azusa Pacific at Bruce Hurst Field.
