ST. GEORGE, Utah-Jake Engel and Drake Benner homered as the No. 24 Dixie State Trailblazers routed Adams State 9-1 Friday at Bruce Hurst Field in the Rocky Mountian Athletic Conference opener for both squads.

Benton Hart earned the win on the mound for Dixie State, improving to 3-0 on the season. Dixie State is now 12-3 and 1-0 in RMAC play headed into Saturday’s doubleheader against the Grizzlies.

Noah Befus had an RBI in the loss for Adams State, as the Grizzlies fell to 5-10 and 0-1 in RMAC play.
