Current and Former SUU Golf Standouts To Compete at 120th Utah State Amateur

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Commencing Monday, a number of current and former Southern Utah University golf standouts will be competing in the 120th Utah State Amateur Championship.

Off the heels of an impressive showing at the Big Sky Conference championship tournament, three current Thunderbirds will either be competing at the Oakridge Country Club of Farmington or the Davis Park Golf Course of Kaysville.

These Thunderbirds are sophomore Ali Hameed of Gilbert, Ariz., freshman Austin Jaramillo of Roosevelt, Utah and sophomore Jake Vincent of Palm Desert, Calif.

Future Thunderbird Ryker Smith is also in the competition this week.

Sydney, Australia native Fidel Concepcion is also in the state amateur after having run out of eligibility for the Thunderbirds and fellow Thunderbird alums Denny Job and Dexter Edwards are in the field as well as Thunderbirds’ men’s basketball player Ryan Brimley.
