BYU Men’s Basketball Duo Nets Big 12 Weekly Honors Monday

IRVING, Texas-Monday, BYU men’s basketball’s AJ Dybantsa and Robert Wright III netted weekly honors from the Big 12 Conference for their contributions to the Cougars’ success this past week.

Dybantsa, the star freshman guard/forward again earned the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Week award and was named to the conference’s Starting Five this week.  In wins over Baylor and Colorado, Dybantsa averaged 28 points, 9 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.

In the 99-94 win over the Bears, Dybantsa recorded a team-high 36 points on the season for BYU last Tuesday.

Wright was named to the Big 12 Starting Five along with Dybantsa.  This week, Wright averaged 34.5 points and shot almost 67 percent from range while shooting almost 65 percent from the floor.

The Cougars return to action Wednesday at Arizona as the Big 12 season ensues for both squads.
