Missing Ephraim Woman Update

PRESS RELEASE:
On February 3, 2022, at approximately 0600 hours, Ephraim Police Department was dispatched to a missing person at 55 S. 200 E. in Ephraim. Shirleen Peterson an 86 year old female who suffers from dementia and hallucinations left her home on foot sometime between the hours of 2:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. this morning. She has gray hair, wears glasses, and was last known to be wearing a Teal nightshirt and Depends underwear.
Search efforts by multiple law enforcement agencies as well as Sanpete County Search and Rescue have been ongoing and we are asking that all Ephraim residents check any of their outbuildings and vehicles on their property as well as any video surveillance or doorbell cameras that you may have at your residence.

UPDATE:
Search update: Responding agencies are continuing to search in the Ephraim area. We have been focused on the area immediately surrounding Shirlene’s home and the adjacent area. The search has included vehicles, outbuildings, and any area that someone may seek shelter. We are expanding our search area and adding additional resources. At this time there are not any suspicious circumstances or evidence of foul play in this case. You will continue to see search personnel in the area. We will present an additional update around 4:00 pm or as situations change.
