On Mar. 27, around 1:00 p.m. Richfield City Police, Sevier County Deputies, EMTs, Utah Highway Patrol, Search and Rescue and a Rope Team were called to the Mountains just to the West of Richfield where a woman had fallen off of a cliff.

According to Richfield City Police Chief Trent Lloyd, 26 year old Candice Thompson was hiking with her family when it appears she slipped and fell off a 75 to 100 foot cliff in an area near what locals call “Bulls Head.” First responders were able to get to her location and bring her to the road where life flight was waiting, but due to her unstable condition she was taken by ambulance to Sevier Valley Hospital where she unfortunately passed away shortly after arriving.

According to Sevier County Sherriff Nathan Curtis an investigation is ongoing, but evidence at the scene indicates the fall was an accident and foul play is not suspected.
