Winter storm didn’t help snowpack much

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Those who study Utah’s snowpack say the recent winter storm has done little to help improve the state’s water supply.

Hydrologists with the National Weather Service say the snowpack increased about three-percent from snowfall on Sunday and Monday.

Utah reservoirs are currently at about 80-percent capacity thanks to last year’s rain and snow.

The situation could still improve, since forecasters are predicting additional storms tomorrow and late in the weekend.
