(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Republican Party says it will hold party-sponsored debates for its congressional and U.S. Senate candidates. The chairman of the Utah GOP says the party is currently working on scheduling the debates ahead of the June 28th primary. The move comes after the state party accused the non-partisan Utah Debate Commission of being unfair to its candidates and proposed a co-sponsorship agreement for the debates. The commission declined and says it will hold the scheduled debates for congressional and Senate candidates on June 1st and 2nd.
