(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah drivers who like a bit of a retro look on their license plates can finally get one with white letters on a black background. Lawmakers authorized the license plate five years ago, but the DMV couldn’t issue it because of conflicting state laws. That conflict was resolved earlier this year when the legislature passed a bill allowing license plates that only have reflective numbers and letters. The DMV is now issuing the special plates, and money raised from them will go to the Utah State Historical Society.
