(Salt Lake City, UT) — After the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, Utah leaders expressed their condolences. Governor Spencer Cox ordered flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff for 30 days, until January 28th, and encouraged others to do the same. Utah Democratic Party Chair Diane Lewis praised Carter’s dedication to fairness, while Carin Crowe, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake, highlighted his commitment to justice and affordable housing, calling him the embodiment of service and compassion. Carter was 100 – making him the first U.S. president to become a centenarian.
