(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state of Utah is joining a task force that wants to stop companies from allowing robocalls coming from outside the United States. Attorney General Sean Reyes announced yesterday that the task force will be looking to sue telecommunications companies that allow illegal calls. Reyes says the companies seem to turn a blind eye to the nature of the calls in exchange for steady revenue. The Utah Division of Consumer Protection will partner with the AG’s Office as part of the effort.
