(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah state legislature has introduced a bill that would place harsher penalties on road ragers and aggressive drivers. House Bill 30 is sponsored by Representative Paul Cutler, and would add on another 500-dollars to traffic tickets for anyone who intentionally swerves or follows closely to intimidate other drivers. That money would then go toward a road rage education program set up by the Department of Public Safety, with the goal of reducing road rage incidents in Utah. A total of 23 people died on Utah roadways last year due to road rage and aggressive driving.
