(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Republican Party filed paperwork to run a referendum to repeal Map C in the state’s court-ordered redistricting process, two weeks after endorsing it. If the party collects roughly 141-thousand signatures by November 17th, Map C would be blocked from taking effect and instead placed on the ballot for voter approval in November 2026. This could override the court’s decision expected November 10th. It remains unclear which map would be used, as a judge previously ruled that the legislature violated Proposition 4 and invalidated Utah’s 2021 redistricting maps.
