(Highland, UT) — Utah firefighters are in Texas helping fight wildfires currently burning near the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Three firefighters from the Lone Peak Fire District were sent to Texas last week to help battle the Big L Fire. A spokesperson for the fire district says it was important to respond to the request because Utah often asks for help from other states during wildfire season. Officials in Texas hope rain will help firefighters gain more control of the fire today.
