Utah County Attorney Trailing Opponent In Re-Election Bid

(Provo, UT) — David Leavitt is trailing badly in his bid to be re-elected as Utah County Attorney. Unofficial results announced last night show Jeff Gray getting more than 70-percent of the vote, with Leavitt far behind with around 28-percent. Leavitt has been under fire from law enforcement and prosecutors from his own office over the way he has handled cases. He has also been in a dispute with Utah County Sheriff Mike over the investigation of a sex abuse ring, saying Smith leaked information that implicated Leavitt in the probe.
