(Salt Lake City, UT) — Three federal properties in Utah have been designated for disposal by the U.S. General Services Administration. The GSA says the IRS Service Center in Ogden, the St. George Federal Building, and the Wallace F. Bennett Federal Building in Salt Lake City have been deemed “non-core” to government operations, are functionally obsolete due to decades of funding deficiencies. Nationwide, over 400 properties, including the FBI headquarters and the Department of Justice building, are also slated for closure or sale as part of efforts to reduce government spending.
