(Cedar City, UT) — A Cedar City college is nearly doubling its police force. Southern Utah University recently swore in five new officers to the department, bringing the total number to nine. One of the new officers is filling in a position that was left vacant. The department explained three of the new officers are transfers from the police department in Cedar City, while one of the recruits just finished at the academy. A college official also told St. George News they have put resources in the budget to add two more officers in the future.
