(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah is the most religious state, according to a new study. New research from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute using Census data found that the Beehive State had the largest share of religious residents out of any of the 50 states. It found that over three-in-four Utahns stick to a religious affiliation. Alabama was the runner-up at over 63-percent. The report defined a religious “adherent” as people who attended a religious congregation during the time of the study.
