On May 30, officials responded to a fire at an apartment building near 200 west 500 south in Richfield. The call was received just after 2:20 p.m. and the Richfield City Fire Department was able to extinguish the blaze in around an hour. According to initial reports, only the unit where the fire started was damaged. Tenants were evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze and no injuries were reported. The official cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
