(Salt Lake City, UT) — State officials are giving Utah school districts more flexibility to move to virtual learning during the current surge in COVID-19 cases. Governor Cox and other state leaders announced yesterday that they were suspending the state’s Test-to-Stay protocols. Lawmakers were worried that the surge in cases would cause a shortage in COVID-19 tests statewide. A letter issued by the governor said the move will allow the state health department to focus testing resources on long-term care facilities and community testing sites.
