(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers want to require the state to test every rape kit submitted to them by police. The state Senate passed a bill yesterday that would fund the processing of any rape kits still untested statewide. Lawmakers agreed to put just over a-million-dollars toward funding the tests. The bill has already passed the House and will now head to Governor Herbert for his signature.
