(St. George, UT) — Only one week remains until Utah has a new member of Congress. The special election to fill the open 2nd Congressional District seat takes place next Tuesday, with the two main candidates being Republican Celeste Malloy and Democrat Kathleen Riebe. The special election was needed after Representative Chris Stewart announced his resignation from the post earlier this year. The 2nd Congressional District includes southern Utah cities such as St. George and Cedar City.
