Just before 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, a semi truck was called in as being driven recklessly, westbound on I-70 in Sevier County. A Sevier County deputy made an attempt to get the truck to stop but it continued driving erratically. According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis, “with the help of UHP, spikes were used and the truck continued to drive south after reaching I-15. It eventually stopped approximately three miles north of Beaver as it was starting to smoke heavily from driving on the rims.” The driver, whose name has not yet been released, exited the truck and was taken into custody without further incident. Beaver fire department and EMS responded to put out the flames. Charges are pending and more information will be released at a later date.
