The Richfield City Police Department is warning residents of a scam. In a post to their Facebook page they reported that someone is spoofing their main office number, 435-896-8484, and pretending to be an officer. The scammer then claims that someone has missed a federal subpoena and demands money. In their post, the RCPD stated “do not pay anyone money who calls claiming to be form the police department. All fines, forfeitures and fees are required to be paid through the court system, never directly to the police.”
