Salt Lake City Drops Lawsuit Over Inland Port

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Supreme Court is granting a request to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Salt Lake City officials over the building of an inland port. The state’s highest court announced the dismissal on Friday. Salt Lake City officials claimed the state illegally claimed land on the northwest side of the city for the port without giving proper compensation. State lawmakers agreed last year to give the city a bigger chunk of property tax revenue generated by the port, leading to an agreement to dismiss the case.
