Romney: Aggressive Steps Needed To Preserve Great Salt Lake

(South Salt Lake, UT) — Senator Mitt Romney says Utah will have to take really aggressive steps to preserve the Great Salt Lake. The Utah Republican toured a wastewater treatment plant in South Salt Lake yesterday as officials lobbied for more federal funding to help pay for infrastructure upgrades. Afterward, Romney said he’s not happy with the slow pace of conservation efforts centered on the lake. The senator has proposed a bill that would fund a study of the lake and possible solutions to its declining water level.
