(Washington, DC) — Republican Congressman Chris Stewart will seek a sixth term in office. Stewart announced his 2022 re-election bid on Twitter. Utah’s Second Congressional District is expected to go to Republicans again in the upcoming election. However, Stewart’s biggest challenge could come within his own party. Attorney Erin Rider is planning to challenge the five-term congressman for the GOP nomination, which would give him his first primary challenge since he first won office in 2012.
