Prescribed Burn In Sevier County

The Fishlake National Forest and the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands plan to prescribe burn approximately 7,500 acres of a variety of different kinds of vegetation. The project started Sept. 7 and will run through Nov. 20 in Sevier County east of Salina between I-70 and Accord Lakes. The Central Utah Fire interagency shared “the project area is still fairly wet from recent rains. It is better to burn the overgrown and thick vegetation now under these wetter and cooler conditions.” Smoke will be visible in surrounding areas.
