Poll: State Lawmakers Seen As More Powerful Than Utah’s Governor

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utahns say state lawmakers are just a bit more influential than the governor. A new Deseret News-Hinckley Institute of Politics poll recently asked voters what group of elected leaders holds the most influence in the state. Members of the Utah Legislature came out on top, getting the support of 33-percent of those asked. Thirty-two-percent said the governor had more influence, while 14-percent said they didn’t know. City and county leaders only received the support of 12-percent of those polled.
