(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  The National Security Agency did not perform “blanket” surveillance during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympiad in 2002.  That’s according to the NSA operations director, Wayne Murphy, who said in a federal court declaration that the intelligence gathering program used at the Olympics and developed after the attacks on the World Trade Center is still classified, according to the “Deseret News.”  Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson filed a lawsuit earlier this year on behalf of the plantiffs, accusing national intelligence officials of illegal surveillance during the 2002 Winter Games. Â
