The Utah Department of Transportation is installing new traffic signals on Richfield Main Street at 100 North and at 300 South. In conjunction with the new signals, fiber-optic cable will also be upgraded along 1300 south from the south interchange in Richfield up to 300 north on Main Street. This will include some trenching and boring along the roadway. Upgrades to existing signals will also be addressed including Flashing Yellow Arrow Signal Heads for each leg of the intersection at 1300 South, as well as eastbound and westbound turn movements at 300 North and Main.
New ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps and pedestrian buttons will also be constructed where needed. New overhead lighting and signal heads are also anticipated at each signalized intersection. Some lane closures will be required to accommodate the work and possible block intersections for short durations of time to accommodate the replacement of existing signal cabinets with new ones. UDOT asks motorists to drive with caution anywhere along Main Street over the next few weeks and plan for minor delays or potential alternate routes. UDOT also advises caution anytime new signals or stop signs are installed as motorists overcome old habits and adjust to the new patterns. They also remind motorists with Yellow Flashing Arrows at left-turn lanes to make left turns only when there is no oncoming through-traffic.
