(Lake Powell, UT) — New lower-elevation boat ramps are coming to Lake Powell as low water levels continue to affect access. The National Park Service approved plans September 9th for new ramps and facilities at Bullfrog and Hite. The projects include new access roads, parking areas and ramps designed to remain usable at lower lake levels. Park officials say more than two decades of drought and declining water levels have made existing launch sites difficult and unsafe to use. Construction dates have not been announced.
