The 2019 Miss Mt. Pleasant pageant was held Saturday evening, and Kylena Akauola was chosen to represent the city for the coming year. Her platform is “Art heals: the importance of art.” Kylena is the daughter of Vern and Michelle Akauola. Joining Kylena will be Mayshaylie Burnside, 1st runner up; and Isabelle Hightower, 2nd runner up. Eneli Silva was voted Miss Congeniality, and Isabelle Hightower was voted Miss Photogenic.
