(Logan, UT) — All dairy farms in Cache County must start collecting weekly samples to be tested for bird flu. The outbreak was first reported in Texas dairy cattle in March and has spread to 14 other states according to the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. Experts say the recent detection of bird flu in a flock of chickens in Cache County is the same virus spreading among dairy cows. So far, there have been no detected cases in Utah cattle.
