(St. George, UT) — Utah’s newest member of Congress is planning to start work this week. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Celeste Maloy intends to fly to the nation’s capital in order to be sworn-in to the House of Representatives. However, her election victory won’t be certified until next week. The Republican was victorious during Utah’s special election before Thanksgiving last week, replacing former Congressman Chris Stewart in the 2nd Congressional District. It covers wide swaths of western and southern Utah, including Washington County.
